Has Paul Been Found?

The Roman Catholic church announced Sunday evening that scientific tests have confirmed that remains buried in a catholic church near Rome have confirmed the tradition that the remains belong to the apostle Paul.

Church leader Benedict XVI announced that tests confirm the remains to date to a period between the first and second century. Paul likley died around 67 AD while imprisoned in Rome. Church headquaters have known for about a year that results were favorable. He did not release additional details.

So?

Paul would be the first to tell you not to worship or honor his remains for he is but a man. Paul viewed himself as sinner saved by Jesus Christ. He was his servant. No doubt there will be great profit for some over this announcement.

We suggest you be very careful in reading anything into this. The catholics have for years placed extreme value on the remains, or relics, of ancient Christians and catholics. Faith should not be predicated on such a discovery for it may never be truly proven to be that of Paul.

Christians are further reminded that there is but one tomb that we are interested in and it is empty!

  1. First: Who really cares besides the Catholics?

Second: I know for sure where Paul is and that’s all that matters. But I only need to know where the Lord is also. Bones are bones.
